Excuse me?!
A new Foxnews Poll (I pretty much only trust Fox because everyone else I consider extremely biased!) shows that Democrats are favored on most key issues. How can this be? If it weren't for Democrats, we would not have one of the most major problems we have today in our economy! Of course, I'm speaking of gasoline prices! They are way sky high, and the current situation with Israel is not helping either! However, that will be another topic for another time.
Democrats continuously say that, rather than focus on finding new sources of oil, it's better to eliminate our dependence on foreign oil via having cars get better fuel economy. I couldn't agree more! I would go further, however, and require a lower speed limit however. According to AAA, you get your optimum fuel economy at 55 MPH. Some states, such as Washington, allows for 70 miles per hour. That's quite wasteful. There should be strict enforcement of new speed limits if they are lowered to 55 by the way. Make the fines hurt so much that it's cheaper to obey the law!
However, most Democrats argue that if we were to drill for oil on our own land, it would take about 10 years for it to really come to market anyway. Ok, well, then I ask Democrats, why did you block drilling in ANWAR in 1994? We could have had that oil by now morons! Sure, it's not going to solve the ultimate problem, but, we're partly in this situation because of Democrats absolute refusal to drill for oil on our own land! Not to mention they are unwilling to even TEMPORARILY take away the federal gas taxes! So, they are not completely guilt free here either. And Americans, in all their amnesia-like state, are supporting Democrats in this?!
IF the Democrats are so concerned, why not temporarily suspend the Federal Gas taxes? Is that too much to ask? Why not for just for a little bit of time to provide the relief you guys claim is needed so much? I'd say, it's time for you Libs to put up or shut up. Obviously, you're not part of the solution, so as the old saying goes, you're part of the problem because that's the only part that's left!
